After Christmas = The New Black Friday

Tips for After-Christmas sale shopping:

  1. Keep an eye out for perfume & toiletry gift sets which usually go on sale after the holidays. These make great gifts for birthdays later on in the year.
  2. Also look for big savings on winter wear like jackets, scarves and gloves.
  3. Go early! Just like Black Friday, all the best deals will be gone well before noon.
  4. Plan ahead for next Christmas and stock up on decorations now. Many retailers will be marking them up to 50% off.
  5. Use gift cards as soon as possible. Not only can you get the best deals at your favorite stores immediately after Christmas, using the cards right away will ensure they don't get forgotten and lose their value.
  6. Grab coupons. Coupons and online coupon codes can be found at sites like fatwallet, retailmenot and couponmountain.

A few offers:

  • Crate and Barrel is listing some items for up to 70% off.

Merry Christmas!

Here are all the best, no-scam, no-strings attached freebies I found this week...

Nordstrom is on Fire!

That's how hot the sale is right now. Tons of amazing items (Hello, Michael Kors, I see you, baby!) 40% off, free shipping on orders over $200 and Double Rewards Points! This post is short cuz I'm heading over there right now before all the good stuff is snatched up.

A few of my Flea Market finds...

Just wanted to show off a few of the beauties I've found so far.

These are the Before & After pics of a chair I got for $4. I reupholstered it in the Lotus fabric from Amy Butler and there you go. I think its pretty Scandinavian chic. My husband and I call it the "Cool Chair." I always feel like I should have a red plastic cup full of Bud Lite when I'm sitting in it.

I wish I'd taken a before pic of this one. Originally, it was a hideous golden-rod-bronze color. Yech... A little plastic paint primer plus glossy black spray paint equals a mirror that looks like it cost way more than five bucks. I found it hanging up at a Salvation Army with a sign reading: "Mirror Not For Sale" but as soon as I asked the manager about it, she seemed glad to be rid of it. Still one of my favorite finds.

I have many more flea market finds I'll post in a later blog once I take pics. Heck, nearly half the stuff in my house came from a flea market or thrift store.

What's the best thing you ever found at a flea market or thrift store?

My First Post

Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
